Inductive Charging
How can our e-coil system overcome technological barriers?

Traditional inductive charging

Inductive energy transfer
Inductive transfer of energy relates to transferring eletric energy by means of magnetic fields.
One application for this is charging the battery of an electric vehicle wirelessly without the need for a plug or cable connector.

Resonant power transfer
In this setup of the system transmitter and emitter both are resonant systems
that are magnetically coupled.
Resonant power transfer allows for efficient power transmission by magnetic fields.

Challenges

Commercially viable inductive charging systems face a number of challenges today:

Difficulty to reach high level of efficiency

Measures to counter electormagnetic strayfields as well as electronic components reduce overall efficiency

Electromagnetic properties

Electromagnetic strayfileds need to be controlled efficiently

Limited power density

System siszes increase alongside power requirements

Difficult system integration

Electromagnetic interactions limit flexibility of integration/design
